What do we service?
Cascade Engineering Services Metrology Laboratory services all police traffic LIDAR
and RADAR speed measuring devices (SMD) listed by The International Association
of Chief’s of Police as tested, certified and approved on their published Consumer
Product List. (CPL)
Calibration or Certification, what’s the difference?
Although the terms are often used interchangeably in the field, each has technically
and distinctly different procedures applied and therefore meanings.
Which procedure?
True calibration requires physical diagnostics and adjustments to optimize
the devices performance. Whereas certification minimally ensures that the
SMD is “functioning” within its manufactured designed specification range and is
less technically involved and less labor intensive to service.
Calibration service:
In laboratory SMD service is provided at Cascade Engineering Services, Inc. in Redmond,
WA. Contact us for an in laboratory Calibration rate quote per device. On-site service
rate is available per device with a three (3) device minimum within a fifty (50)
mile radius of Redmond, WA. On-site service beyond the fifty (50) mile radius of
Redmond, WA, with a ten (10) device minimum plus mileage portal to portal. Exception;

Certification service:
In laboratory SMD service is provided at Cascade Engineering Services, Inc. in Redmond,
WA. Contact us for an in laboratory Calibration rate quote per device. On-site service
rate is per device with a three (3) device minimum within a fifty (50) mile radius
of Redmond, WA. On-site service beyond the fifty (50) mile radius of Redmond, WA.
is rate is per device with a three (3) device minimum plus mileage portal to portal.

Repair service:
Cascade Metrology Laboratory is technically proficient with all types of SMD's.
We provide SMD diagnostic and repair services at either the circuit board or component
level. Cascade will warrant the repair/s for the period equal to the documented
repair warranty of the original manufacturer of the SMD. The in laboratory repair
rate is per hour. Repair parts will be quoted separately as identified and necessary
to ensure a certified and/or calibrated SMD.
Warranty (factory) service:
In the process of a calibration or certification service, Cascade Metrology Laboratory
will act as your agent in acquiring the necessary Warranty Service from the original
manufacture of the device if the device is found to require service under Warranty
conditions.
Expert testimony:
Expert court witness is provided upon request at an hourly fee, which includes travel
from portal to portal.
